Seams like the seasons have shifted. Hunted in ss some of the season and never really got cold down here in North Texas. Always seem to get the coldest fronts in February. Anyone else wish they would move the season back a bit?

The reason they like to end the season before February is that ducks start to pair up. At least that's what I've heard. We actually saw the most birds in November because we caught perfect rains and had a ton of food. We witnessed first hand how a thousand ducks can eat out a place pretty quick. The rest of the season was steady but not like the first half of November.

we caught perfect rains and had a ton of food. I did as well lest 2 weeks season - shot more mallards than previous 2 seasons combined

I just wish we had either a one week or 2 day season in mid/late February with a 2-3 bird limit for collectors

Novembers been a good month for me, can't imagine having to wait and start in december. Lots of food is gone by the time february rolls around, so ducks have moved on to find it somewhere else

Lavon had a special February season. Anyone else heard of any "special duck seasons" on a Texas lake after regular season (other than a HPMMU)? Per a GW that works the lake, Lavon has never had a "special" February waterfowl season.

A GW who's worked that lake hard for many years said he has never known nor heard of a special duck season for Lavon. I've hunted and fished Lavon since the 70's, and I'm not aware of it either.

I hope you didn't call Leroy and wake him up from his recliner nap and get him worked up.
For you sir I recommend a class at Quad C in forum humor and some prozack.
Now I gotta go the pigeons are loaded up in the millet I threw out on the snow over by community hs.
