 Proper turky choke? ammo?

I have my first turkey hunt next month in Clay County, and I would like to setup my 12 gauge Mossberg 930 (upland bird model) for the turkey hunt. According to the Ranch guide the shots will be 25-30 yards. So my question is can I use the factory Mossberg full choke or do I need some special turkey choke? Also, I'm trying to narrow down the correct ammo based on the ranch's ammo recomendation: at leat 3" shell, #5, and 1300 fps or better (no steel). Was looking at the following ammo: Any thoughts on the ammo?

You don't need a fancy "turkey choke" to kill turkeys. On the contrary, an extremely tight choke increases the chance you will miss if you don't know your shotguns point of impact at given ranges with given loads.
I've shot many toms and gobblers with an IC choked A5 light twelve using #6 lead shot 2 3/4 shells.

This is pretty good advice. If this is your first turkey, I would shoot your factory mod choke. A turkey choke leaves less room for error at close range, and a mod choke should suit you fine. As for the ammo. Just shoot any 3" #5. Turkey loads are the least important ammo decision IMO. Any turkey loads you can find will work fine.

Pattern your gun at those ranges to know where its hitting, and which of those two loads groups better. Try both your full and mod chokes that came with your 930.

After looking at the prices for some of the aftermarket turkey chokes, I will definetly take your advice and pattern the factory MOD and FULL chokes first with some #5 shot. I will use the saved money to buy more ammo

Don't over think it. My son has killed a pile of turkeys with a Mossberg youth 20 ga with factory mod choke and 2-3/4 6's. Pattern your gun with 5's or 6's, pick the one that has the most uniform pattern and you're good out to 30 easily.
