Finished the season this weekend. Hunted Friday morning and got 13 birds and let the dogs rest that afternoon due to warm temps knowing it would be cooler on Saturday. Hit the ground Saturday morning and broke for lunch with 18 birds. Finally finished our 30 bird limit later that afternoon. Hunted for a couple hours on Sunday and picked up another 8. 51 birds total for the weekend. This year has been the best in a very long time. This puts the season total right around 700 birds and still some huge coveys out there.

Walking down the pipeline

Happy dog

Getting on the birds

Bird flying for its life

This is a good sign

Waiting on a woman (dog)

A well earned drink for this dog. It was probably the last hunt of her life. She pointed and retrieved the last bird on Sunday morning. She still has it in her, but her body is failing her.

"Good shooting guys, I got the bird for ya"

Wow. Great pictures. Best report I've seen all year. What county?

It's a lot of work to get those numbers, and certainly some luck. Just this week over 5000 pounds of milo were spread out for the birds.

Where did you get that happy dog? It looks like one that was on this forum for sale.

These are my uncle's dogs so I am not sure where they all come from, but none of them are from the forum. Happy dog's name is Juice. He's starting to figure out the whole idea of hunting. His points are good, but he started off just staying near the handler. I think he has watched and learned from the other dogs how to cover a field. He's the most polite pointer I have ever seen. He'll honor a peeing dog from 100 yards smile. He keeps very close tabs on the other dog(s) that are out when he's out.

Looks like a excellent hunt.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.
Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.
