Let's just get rid of every introduced animal in Texas. Close down every HF ranch period. If the landowners can't make it on farming, ranching or oil ,SELL, SELL, SELL. Let's close down every ranch that has introduced a non-native species so TPWD can get involved and kill every non-native game animal in the great State of Texas. A bounty on Blackbuck, aoudad, axis, fallow, mouflon, ibex..... Outlaw every taxidermist from mounting any more so called exotic's. Let's tell every private landowner "We own the native game do not touch", "Period". We own the game and we can hunt on your land anytime to harvest our animal. Mr. Landowner you can no longer do anything to impede any game animal including but not limited to, No high fence, No crops, no feeders.... Texas will NO longer allow the importation of any game animal harvested anywhere in the world which was harvested within a HF no matter the land size or country of origin. Records of Exotic's, Exotic Wildlife Association, SCI "estate" you are history. Hand and Hand with the Government we will get rid of this virus. Tell Landowners you have no right to own, introduce, hunt or enjoy watching the axis deer and BB antelope play. They are pet's. Long live America the land of the
free.

Later Class we will discuss the restrictions on whitetail management. So everyone will have an equal opportunity.

If you are anti-Hf and you want to rid Texas of Hf. Where do you draw the line on OP! Do you walk the walk of just talk with no real solutions or foresight.

Ding...ding...ding.... we have a winner TonyinVA. Thanks Tony.

I made this post because some THF members flap their gums to abolish all HF. They do not consider any affect their stance would have on anyone but themselves. Ranches which clearly exist within the law.

Texas Wildlife Code
Sec. 1.013. FENCES. This code does not prohibit or restrict the owner or occupant of land from constructing or maintaining a fence of any height on the land owned or occupied, and an owner or occupant who constructs such a fence is not liable for the restriction of the movement of wild animals by the fence. The existence of a fence does not affect the status of “wild” animals as property of the people of this state.

If you want to change a law state a position not just “ I don’t like it because the people own the wild animals” Of course we still do, and clearly the people have spoken. The TPWD represent the people who say "you can raise deer within a HF" and the people’s representative TPWD will look after them.

Next time you feel compelled to post some anti-high fence propaganda don't direct it towards your fellow outdoorsman send it to TPWD , your Senator, Congress person or move to California. Just think before condemning those on a hunting forum who follow the law.

I just wanted to point out in a sarcastic way it is not as simple as rolling up a fence, and it all goes away. Maybe in Russia but not in America.

So your fight is not with me, you, your cousin, a neighbor who enjoys a weekend outing to a HF ranch for a Blackbuck. State your position and solutions with facts. It might just go along way to a middle ground solution if we stick together.

I caught the fine print and the sarcasm as well. But I still feel compelled to bring up some things.

About exotics: When some of the big (rich) ranchers first brought various exotic species here lots of people laughed at them and said the animals wouldn’t thrive. Fast forward several decades. The various herds of some of those exotics were bigger in Texas than in their native homelands. In fact some of the ‘native homeland’ herds were so small and inbred they were on the verge of extinction. In the 1990s a group of Texas exotic ranchers got together and donated seed herds of various species back to the home countries so the species would go on.

High Fences: I remember somewhere around 1997 Ray Sasser, of The Dallas Morning News, wrote a great article about a guy in East Texas (near Henderson I think) that had high fenced his 250 acres a few years earlier and started an intense management program. It didn’t take too long and the guy was producing 150 - 180 or better quality bucks and he never imported any genetics. He did it just to show that it could be done. And he also only let family pull the occasional trigger on the land.
