So I'm looking at layout blinds. Reading out of the catalogue I've replaced my nudie magazines w, macks Prarie wings! The price really isn't a big deal just want a quality one that will last, and do the job. I know some guys on here like the cabelas ones. I've never had one, so who suggests what? I do want a cammo one not feild khaki. Any suggestions on a particular brand and model?

Also w the layout blinds, I've never gotten inside of one, so do you push the doors open? Or are they on some kind of spring loaded release? Like I said no clue.

Perv, it's much easier to figure out how to use a layout if you see it as opposed to someone trying to explain it. Look for goose hunting videos on YouTube, you'll see how they're used.

Are you hunting public or private perv? It'd be easy to get whatever layout was most comfortable if youre on private and can just drop it out of the truck to hunt. If you hunt public like me, a layout option I used all this year was the medium sized beavertail sled from cabelas. It's like 4 lbs, you can tow your gear in it, it floats, and can be used in up to 6" of water with 200 lb me in it. Toss some burlap over it, brush it up and you disappear. Not mentioning it's pretty darn comfortable with your back on the slanted front end. No way I'd ever lug a normal layout blind where we usually have to walk. Just a thought, hope it helps in your situation.

I like the cabelas line. I have two right now. My favorite is the Lightning set. It doesnt have any bells and whistles, but it sets up in about 5 seconds, even in the dark. I have found that they are all plenty comfortable, so speed of set up is important to me. I have used several brands and I think Cabela's are the best.

I have had the mobile light cabelas one for two seasons and have had no issues. If you are walking in with a layout blind I highly recommend this one because it is several pounds lighter than the next size one.

We had this discussion today. In my opinion, layout blinds are expensive cumbersome and uncomfortable. I sold mine. I went back to an old school backboard with a camo netting with rafia grass. Easy, cheap, light and no set up time. You can also hide better with a much lower profile. Even for my grande profile I hide better. Mine cost $0.00

True. The sled idea is a good one. I have and use burlap alot but have been thinking of using a layout blind. Yeah they're all around 300 Give or take. One guy said the avery power hunter. It's the cheapest. Keep the comments coming

Like the rodgers, looking on Google for momarsh and the only layout I can find is the one w the feet on it or the chair or a layout boat blind. Not a shore layout blind

Northern Flight Ultimate. Heavy and cumbersome but if you don't walk long distances why not be comfortable?
Spray paint it with flat camo paint and take the time to brush it in.
If you ever have to sit for more than an hour or two you'll be glad your not laying on rocks and mud clods.

I have an Avery Finisher and I'm very happy with it. Quick setup and pretty easy to carry.

Primos hard core is light weight and doubles as a decoy bag. Wal 1809 has a good idea also especially if you are walking.

I I have a Avery Finisher and a Power hunter. Easy fast set up. Camo pattern isn't important. By the time you mist/ spray it with mud in a can and grass it you shouldn't see the camo pattern. At my hunting spot just add surrounding veg and you disappear. I've used those 1" thick foam pads for laying under a sleeping bag Inside my blind. Warm and comfortable.
