So for about $250 I can do this. Let's say it gets to 106 in the garage in the summer heat now,
what could I expect to see for temperatures after the insulation, assuming I install it right.

Here is what I'm thinking:

Side and top gap kit $2 a foot need 36ft or so:

threshold (bottom gap) kit $55:

Door insulation panels (need 16) $55 for 8

So not terribly costly, say 75+55+110 = $240 or so for a double door.

I cut up a bunch of Tyvek panels from Home Depot and fit them in the slots of the door. It helps a little in the winter, not so much in the summer.

roflmao just my luck, it's the cold that I can handle.
I just don't go in the garage to fiddle around as much as I like
when it's super hot.

If doors gets direct sun, should help. If doors face north, will help house in winter.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

Any way to put in an AC window unit for the hot days?

Nope, I've got a HOA that would send out the pitch forks and torches.

Insulating garage door should reduce heat load of home. Assume you enter home direcly from garage through a walk door. Probably should consider insulating garage attic as well.

I have (new) two 10ft sticks and one 12ft stick of this in white if you are interested. My door is not flat panels so the seal wouldn't do that much good.

Whats above the garage? another floor or attic? If attic, do you have radiant barrier, and insulation?
Garage door alone won't help if it's 130 degrees overhead (that's what the temp up there will be without RB).

Yep it's a 130 degree attic space right above it bang

Adding a vent or 2, may do wonders in the garage, or at least cool the attic space.

staple some of this stuff to the rafters - $75: http://www.radiantguard.com/ultima-radiant-barrier-500-sf-breathable.aspx
(this stuff is as strong as a tarp / won't tear - & easy to install )
It will drop the temp 20+ degrees in summer. Add some R-30 insulation to ceiling-decking (if you have none). THEN do garage door.
