These were all shot on our place in Kimble Country over the last 3-4 years. Seems like over the last 10 years the population has really exploded. Used to be if you saw an axis it was a chance thing, this past deer season I saw one on just about every hunt I went on. We see groups of 15-20 on a semi-regular basis and smaller groups all the time. I really don't mind because we seem to have quality bucks and the meat is outstanding.

I'm not from Texas and this is probably a stupid question, but is there a season on free range Axis? or are they like feral hogs?

The season is like 7-11, it's always open
