I just did my first duck hunt ever yesterday morning and had an absolute blast! I'm curious what some of you fav ways to cook duck are as I have plenty now to cook/freeze for later. Thanks in advance.

I'm not a huge fan of duck/goose meat but since that is what I have hunted mainly for 25 years I have learned what I like and what I don't like. For me to make it good usually takes some prep work. Cutting it thin and chicken frying it is a good way. Makes pretty good fajitas if you cut it thin and tenderize it and season with fajita spice. Making jerky isn't bad. Usually what I do with it is grind it up and mix it 50/50 with real fatty hamburger meat and use it in chili, spaghetti, tacos, etc. I hope this helps.

Soak it in water for several days in the fridge changing the water several times. Then let it dry age for a few more days. Then marinate it in worcestershire sauce overnight then pan sear it. Either that or skip the marinate and cut into strips and chicken fry it. Either way is easy and good the key is to not overcook it. You want it a little pink in the middle.

Fillet the breasts and marinate in a mixture of melted butter, cracked pepper, beer and lemon. Wrap the fillet with bacon and grill to rare. Don't overcook it.

Depends on the kind of duck to me.

Divers go into sausage.

Cans, pintails and the rest of the ducks, the above sure work. Another way I like them is cube the breast and thigh meat and use on kbobs after marinating in Worcestershire, maple syrup and itialian dressing grill to medium at the most

Marinade Mallard breast filets in mixture of Italian Dressing and Worchester Sauce (24 hours minimum). Wrap filets in bacon. Grill approximately 18 minutes over medium heat. Meat looks like medium rare prime rib when done correctly. Do NOT overcook.

Don't overthink it.

Freeze/soak in saltwater. Rinse it off and use it in your favorite beef or pork recipe. Just don't over cook it.

My favorite is fajitas with all the fixings.

I use about 2/3 Italian Dressing to 1/3 Worchester Sauce. Really your preference.

We hunted with crooked wing outfitters out of lubbock. It was a fantastic hunt. 7 hunters and 37 ducks before the wind kicked up and cut the morning short.

Brine, marinade, jalapeņo, bacon wrap and smoke on the grill. This is the easiest way to eat duck because you don't have to pluck them. I personally get tired of eating it like this.

I like to learn different recipes. It's the same way with venison. I love chicken fried venison but there are lots of other great ways to cook venison.

Do yourself a favor and learn how to prep and cook them right.

Best website to learn the proper way to prep and cook duck.
