i've shot a lot of coyotes in the last few years, but haven't called in too many of them. In the Spring I got a few with distress calls, but the majority of the dispatched coyotes came to bait or were traveling. So my question: what comes up next in coyote world? They'll start pairing up, I assume, but when? What calls should work best in January and February?

They eat pretty much year round. Rabbits.

603, there is a very good article in the American Hunter about calling for yotes. They suggest howls and yelps from yotes, which I am starting to use now. Ramsey nailed it. up

I threw in a few coyote howls last night, and I could hear the coyotes closing in.
