Anyone else seeing way higher numbers than usual or any different populations of species different than your average year?
Without greenwings here all season, it would have been a bust!

Greenwing numbers are always crazy high mid January to the close of season. This year should be no different. Enjoy them, they are fun to shoot especially for the kiddos. I will be taking kids this weekend for some easy greenwing hunting myself, looking forward to it.

We killed 39 canvasbacks as a group last year and only 4 so far this year hunting the same pieces of water. Wigeon numbers are way down too. Mallard numbers are double what we killed last year. Green wing numbers are about the same as last year. Interesting how that works...

I've only shot two greenwings all year, usually we are covered in them. We haven't seen many birds period though.

Not seeing as many GWT in my area. Normally covered up in them, but not this year. Same thing last year as well. Thinking the drought in my normal areas have the birds out of their normal pattern.
More mallards than normal the last 2 seasons as well. Believe someone else had the same scenario.

Where I hunt GWT have been low this year. That's usually about 50-60% of our take and this year its maybe 30%...
We've shot 4 ringers this season in our area that we've been hunting for the last 6 years and they were the first we've seen or shot...

Got a few GWT teal this year. Normally we just have blues...I'll be damned if the GWT didn't have a muddy taste to 'em though. Even smelled like the pond while cleaning them. Didn't have that trouble with anything else though.

We have had good numbers but they vanish when we get a heavy rain and there is sheet water everywhere.
Even a broke clock is right twice a day.

I was overrun by them little things for a bit. us too, theyve been a big part of the consistant limits the past few weeks. Love those little fighter jets!

Lots of GWT and more mallards than usual for us. Yup- grey ducks down, cans one at Almost every hunt- all else about same. fannin has been better late season than Van zandt Kaufman this year- latter better early season and teal.
