Tell me about that 28 auto loader. My wife and I have switched over to 28 O/U. What brand ect do you have there? What loads did you use for ducks? Maybe a dumb question but were you happy with the killing results? Are you sticking with that load?

Looks like a Benelli Ultralight. Im interested in finding some different 28ga loads also. I shot 28ga/#7s yesterday but there were no gentlemen present.

That is a Benelli Ultra Light, love mine

Lilly...I can be confident in saying there were no gentlemen on that hunt either. Anyone can kill them with a shotgun but it takes an individual with some special talent and skill to shoot them Arkansas style with a rifle Oh and Barney...you were over your limit

Tell me about that 28 auto loader. My wife and I have switched over to 28 O/U. What brand ect do you have there? What loads did you use for ducks? Maybe a dumb question but were you happy with the killing results? Are you sticking with that load? Benelli Ultra Light. They also make another 28ga in the Legacy model. Sweet shooting guns. I bought mine for our river hunts in KS and grown to use it on more and more duck hunts where I know they will be close. I reload #7.5 Hevi-shot, and bought some Winchester Expert #6's when I saw Rogers put then on sale. I killed late season mallards in KS with the 6's, but I noticed that the first shot with then in the hole were feet up and 2 out of 4 times the next shot or 3rd shot was a broken wing as the birds were flushing out of the hole. The Hevi-shot kills them as far as any 12ga steel load I've ever used. I've killed them at 40 ish yards consistently with the load. Today I did wing a wood duck with the 6's, but it stomped the others pretty good. However, all shots were close. I'd say the steel 6's are fine as long as you keep your shots within 25 ish yards. They Hevi-shot shoot at whatever range you are comfortable with. My buddy in KS reloaded some NICE shot #6's this year since it will meter thru a progressive Reloader like lead. I haven't shot it yet, but he says the results are very similar to the Hevi-shot. A shoot last year with 28's (Ultra Light and Legacy) on late season mallards.

Man, I'd love to get it on some of that action. I need to brush up on my manners first.
