Scouted a hole yesterday that has been holding gadwall and wigeon all year. To my surprise it had a few buffleheads and pintails on it. So I set up this morning and waited on them. Could have shot a limit of grey but really wanted a nice bufflehead. I got my two buffleheads and pintails early then finished the limit off with two cinnamon teal! Ha She hates pictures First bufflehead and going to the taxidermy.

Nice looking birds! I got a hen on Sunday - it was my first and much smaller than I expected. Yes they are small. They are just about the same size as a teal. They also seemed to be pretty dumb. They decoyed really good and even bumped into the decoys and still didn't fly. After I shot the two drakes a hen just hung around all morning and kept flying to the other side of the pond then would fly back into the decoys. She finally left after I shot the second pintail. I guess I should have shot her.

Hey BradyBuck how do you like that A5? Is it a 3.5" and have you had any issues?

My SBE II is 4 years old and the receiever looks like it's fixin to give up the Ghost. Its beat to holy hell on the rails. The receiver is Aluminum. Is the Browning Aluminum or Steel?

Didn't want to shoot the decoys so we let her be. A few pintails came in and I got one (my first) and she was still there after all that and my buddy shot her as she finally decided to leave. I thought it was a small ringneck at first as she just sat there in the same manor.

It is inertia driven and 3.5 inch. One difference I know of between it and the SBE 2 is the A5 has 4 lugs on the bolt vs 2 in the Benelli. I got it at the end of dove season and it cycled the cheap Rio 2 3/4 shells flawlessly. I had one problem in the middle of the season that was my fault. I didn't have the berrel seated all the way and surprise surprise the bolt would not lock in...lol. I really love this gun. I like how it fits and lines up with the humpback. It feels very crisp and fast when cycling. My thoughts on shotguns are that most of the name brand guns are very good. You'll find bad and good reviews on all of them. It's possible to get one that will have issues no matter what brand. I personally have had good experience with Browning.

I have no gripes about the Benelli other than I Do Not Believe the Aluminum receiver will hold up to the amount of shooting I do. It cycles anything I've crammed in it. "Inertia" is Benelli's marketing hype for Spring Gun. I do prefer spring guns for the reliability. The winchester Sx3 or Browning Silver, same gun, different cosmetics, both made my FNH are the best gas autos I've owned. Im brand loyal to none. I would like a Spring Gun with a steel receiver. The springers are more reliable than gas in the dirt laden goose fields. I dont think it matters in a duck blind. Is that receiver aluminum or steel?

Aluminum.
I've had a silver hunter for about 8 years now and it has been awesome. The only reason I got an A5 (other than I just wanted one) is because I didn't like getting it wet and muddy.
It's nice to have two good autos so I can take some of the load off the silver hunter. I plan on using it during dove season and the A5 for waterfowl.
