Anyone who is looking for a whitetail lease (anywhere in Texas) and for yourself only -- no guests or unpaid family members (that is cannot hunt, walking or visiting the lease is okay) stick your name in here. Maybe we can get something going.

EDIT: Second restriction, bowhunters won't be able to hunt until the start of rifle season.

What, 99 views so far and no one is interested? When I said stick you name in here, I meant your username, not your real name. I'm just trying to get a feel for how many people are wanting a lease for themselves and are willing to be flexible about location.

What do you mean by "unpaid family members"?

I mean you can't bring a child or wife, etc. to come take a deer on your fee. Each family member would have to pay full freight.

Postoak, looks like a very good start to a list of prospective hunters here...

Keep 'em coming. I know once a lease is found some will be unable to travel to wherever it is and have to back out.

The list continues to grow. Seems like next logical steps would be to identify possible lease properties then start passing those by "generally - county/topography/size only" to see if sincere interest. Wouldn't tip hat as to "full details" for fear of a "individual leaseout" if all details divulged. I will be brutally honest in the sense that I am only interested in properties < 3 hrs. from metromess and only properties with full "community" hunting rights, meaning anyone providing a blind and feeder is free to hunt all blind locations, based on either a 1st come, 1st served basis or "blind draw" basis, hunt-hunt/week-week, etc..Don't want to be on a 1000 acre property and segregated full season to hunting 50-80 acres of that property only. Not my thing. When I hunt with others, the opportunity to shoot any and all deer are spread amongst all member hunters, not just the person that has it on their camera first. I want full camaraderie amongst us and wish the best of luck to all. If this were to disqualify me for any leases, then I guess it would/will.

We've got eight so far. I figure if I can get twenty that will be enough to allow for the inevitable dropouts.

Post, do you have properties already identified or is that part of next steps?

No, I have no properties identified and don't know how to find them. I figure once I have twenty names, I'll create a post asking for landowners to contact me if they have something. Of course, if any are reading this they are welcome to PM me with what they have.

Gotcha, acquire some like-minded purchasing power then put it to use. Very good idea here..

Good luck with this - I will be very interested to see if this works out long term. I hope it does but sorry, I am doubtful. If it does work then maybe this is the way to do it going forward. Just watch where you step cause it can turn out to be a deep hole. I speak from experience. Even if you get the needed number of people how do you know they are all on the same page and will get along in camp and out in the field? Just asking - I honestly hope you prove me wrong

I think it can/would work if parties are basic, practical and realistic as to agreed hunting "tenets", not overly complicating or over engineering things. IMO, over thinking it leads to over interpretation to division to upset and in congruent hunters.

Post, I notice you seem to be a Houston based guy and the majority of us have DFW based locations; that's not going to be problematic will it?
