I had over a hundred ducks on my pond yesterday afternoon. Went and scouted again today and had roughly the same amount. I am going out in the morning to hunt. My question is do ducks feed and roost in the same place. Am I gonna walk down and flush the pond of all the ducks in the morning? Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

I'd wait till legal shooting light to sneak down there.

That's prolly what I will do. I will prolly wait on the decoys till after first light. The only problem, which is not a huge problem is the ducks are currently near the blind which is going to make it tough to get down there.

I would go before daylight and put out a few decoys, exactly where you saw the ducks. Use natural vegetation for as small a blind as possible. Did you scout mornings or just afternoons? If, not roosting on your pond they will be back in the morning. What species of ducks?

Ducks, at times both feed and roost on the same body of water, other times they feed and roost in different places.

I have a blind set up all season. This pond is 3 yrs old with a nice size area of 1-2' deep. I am using the brush pile that was pushed up as my background. Blends in quite well.
Ducks were mallards gadwalls widgeon redheads and a few ring necks.

Over the course of the season our big water spot has had as many as a few thousand coming in to feed at LST to now watching hundreds leave at LST. We still have some feeding but it's gone from a feeding hole to more of a roost hole.

Get there early and put out some dekes and see what happens. Without scouting it at the time you want to hit it it's hard to tell.

Push them off a few nights in a row. Keep it from being a roost. They will come back. Had to do that to a hole this year. Its been a steady producer all year.

We've had some using our place as a roost recently. I was actually a little shocked when we arrived the next morning and the were still there. I think it has only happened one other time in forever. I just gingerly spooked them up each morning before setting up. Had to keep scaring them off when they kept coming back before legal. We did this for several days and they would come back in.

Normally ducks roost and feed in different areas. Where they roost can change easly, shoot a roost, and they pick another roost. Where they feed is different, they will keep comming back. You want a hole where they feed, not where they roost. If you set up in a roost in the morning before LST, ducks are normally gone by LST.
