Has to be a Lottery Hunt Drawn Permit to hunt there.

From what others have said, probably short shots under 100 yards, ususally lots of does and smaller Hill Country sized bucks. Look at the TPW website archives for the last couple years of success history.

Doubt you'll see any hogs, but like fleas they are everywhere sooner or later. Inks is not too far from Guadalupe River SP and Honey Creek WMA as the crow flies which are both eat up with hogs. Never hear anything about any exotics but GRSP's Bauer Unit on the north side of the river has plenty of them.

Be sure to eat at least once at the Bluebonnet Cafe in Marble Falls for breakfast, and the Maxican - east side of 281 - at the MF/Burnet line...big tin cotton gin looking bldg & gravel parking lot...go both places ready to EAT. ...and Bluebonnet is cash only with a ATM in front of the cashier stand. Access is good from Park Road 4? off Hwy 281. LOts of inexpensive motels in Burnet around the Hwy 281 x Hwy 29 junction.

Appreciate the information Ron. Been down that way, but never had the opportunity to hunt. Hoping to get some meat for the freezer.

I have heard of the Bluebonnet, but never been there. My daughter has a cafe in M. Falls, so don't eat anywhere else. She serves "healthy" food, which is what I need if not what I want sometimes.

..and why I'm fighting high cholesterol, close to having diabetes and being toooo fat yadda yadda from 40+ years of eating on the road.

Last time we went down couple years ago looking for houses all up and down the river, we stayed in a place in Burnet, across the hwy from the McDonalds that was clean enough even for my wife. Not a Vacation Spot, but GTG for couple overnites after spending all day in the truck.

Both sides of the River from MF to Llano in 2 1/2 days. Ya wanna look at THAT one? well then...NEXT. The BW complained she dinnit get to see anything but houses... which is what were down there for...and why her nickname on these quickie single purpose trips is PER Peggy, for just Pee/Eat & Ride, & is never allowed to look at the map or navigate after several OMG where are we incidents that cost us HOURS out of the way burnin' daylight.
