The forecast low is in the mid 20s for tonight. Cracker is my only outside dog. I'm planning on bringing her in tonight. It'll be her first night in this winter. When do you bring your outside dogs in?

My 11 year old likes to come in when it gets down around 50, but the 4 year old hasn't been bothered by cold, she simply wants to be with the ol' boy.

My 12yo shorthair doesn't like it below 50 either, but the 5 yo Brit could stay out in a blizzard. They've been going in the garage this winter when it dips into the 30's

My dogs sleep inside, and one of them sleeps under the covers in my bed.

Do you guys get dog hairs in your house? Cracker leaves them on her pad. Muffin sleeps beside me but she does not shed.

I have two inside full time. The other 7 get their dog houses stuffed with Cedar chips anytime it dips down below 45. I have already been through 10 of the big shrink wrapped cedar chips bundles ($8 each). I'm thinking about grabbing some hay this afternoon since it's gonna get so cold, I just hate it, doesn't wash out as good as the cedar chips.

Actually mine sleep in the garage as well, with an old comforter covering their kennels. Both give a good shacking coming out of the kennels each time (I usually get up during the night for 'our' biological exercise), so I have to sweep regularly. Both are GSPs.

It depends on how good I keep up with brushing them.

We have two labs that sleep in bed with us. If we're home they're in the house with us. If it's below 45 degrees they're in the house. We have hardwood floors and vacuum every other day, sometimes every day. We keep them very brushed with the furminator and they get bathed with de-shedding shampoo. The comforter gets washed every Sunday.

It's a major pain in the butt to keep the house clean, but the wife and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Our lab hasn't seemed affected by the cold at all. Seen her outside in the 20s laying on her side with her tongue out. At the same time my vizsla would hold his pee all day just to not go out lmao. He'll try and turn around at the door.

I get a bale of wheat straw every fall. Use it in the outside kennel barrels, crates in the garage, and my triple hole truck box. Its good for all winter, and all crates get fresh batches once a month.

I don't know why I asked about bog hair. I have dog hair on everything I own.
