My wife wanted a new crafting desk and table. So I designed and built the legs, used 2x12 and a 2x10 for the tops. She needed a light box to help her weed out her vinyl designs that she puts on frames and glass. Stained it dark walnut, and 3 coats of polyurethane. Painted the legs in a hammered silver paint. She is very happy.

I welded nuts un the underside and inside the 1x3 and used carriage bolts for the fine adjustments. I clamped all the metal down to a metal table before they were welded. It made them very close to identical. They are wider at the bottom than the top for stability.
