I could have swore this was about calibers..... Says the poster that hasn't mentioned a single caliber.

I hate the .243

I still have the barrel, but it aint hooked to an action. It also won't do what a 6.5 mm or 7mm will do. I thought sure you would say .270

I grew up shooting deer with a 22-250 and learned to watch the hits through the scope. Any rifle that won't allow me to see my hits in the scope is on my bad list, although I have and use several. Hated every 270, 30-06, and magnum I ever owned in a light weigh. Have done some killing with my absolute all time favorite 6.5 Creedmoor in the last week. Really impressed with this cartridge and rifle.

Buddy's 45-70 loaded hotter than pizz left a few bruises after he had me shoot all his ammo up for him. He couldn't remember what it was loaded with so he said "just shoot em".
I wanted to throw that gun away by the time I was done. No padding whatsoever and I felt obligated since he helped me so much

I've never been much on the light weight model rifles, I prefer a heavy barrel with a quality stock. A break is a necessity on magnum rifles IMO if you want to enjoy shooting. My fav's are 6.5mm, .243, 7mm, 300WM. OFF subject; I'm looking for a 7STW if anyone has one they want to part with.

never had a cartridge that I just hated... Had a .223 weatherby vanguard. and that thing could never get it together. I shot it and shot it and it never tamed into any kind of reliability. I did kill one coyote with it on a running shot and I would lie with that set up it was a LUCK shot. I traded it for money on my bow.
Sombody smells like fried borritos...

I have a 7 mag in the original Sendero that I could shoot all day. Only mod to the gun was a trigger job. Obviously the weight is a factor as they are heavier guns, but no brake is needed---not even close. I have a 270WSM that pretty much stays in the cabinet. I actually find myself grabbing the .243 featherweight all the time for hunting.

Had a Ruger Model 77 stainless with the black synthetic "boat paddle" stock in 7 Magnum...kicked like a mule and had a heck of a time with the scope slipping in the rings...finally started using the Remington Managed Recoil Ammo and cross hatched the scope rings id...it was deadly...traded it on something new...
rick I had the same gun for about two days and one range trip. I traded it plus cash for a Browning A-bolt 300win mag with BOSS, loved that gun
