Is this in the old subdivision just west of town in the rough hills?

It's a small plot. 12 acres off FM 462. Is this in the old subdivision just west of town in the rough hills?

There is an old subdivision that is east of the of 462 closer to Hondo that has been hunted very hard for a long time. The roads were in horrible shape. That area closer to Hondo will have less deer than if you are closer to Tarpley. Medina County is well known for subdivisions with smaller tracts of land. They all get hunted very hard.

Good to know. If I'm looking for some land to buy, up to 100 acres to start, what area has a decent deer pop. I live in San Antonio. Would like it to be no more than 1 to 2 hours away. Was looking mainly west of I-10. I know it's a popular hunting area. But this would be just for me/my family. Eventually would like to retire on it. Develop it over next several years. Not lease it out or let others hunt on it. Long term project. Thanks

You can find what you are looking for but it will come with a price in those counties within 1-2 hrs of SA. Here is a good place to start a land search. http://www.landsoftexas.com/texas/land-for-sale/?adv#I would also look north of SA into the Concho or Menard or McCulloch County areas but it will be a bit longer drive for you.
