What does a coon pelt bring these days? Back in the 70's, we'd spotlight them out of a flat bottom boat in the river. We were stupid kids- we'd shoot them w/ a .22 and try to get them to fall into the boat. If needed, we'd finish them off w/ a baseball bat. We didn't even have to skin them, as the fur buyer made cat food out of the carcass. We made more $ than we could spend.

Txcatman1, I used to run about 120 traps back in the early 80s, with my bro and the prices were really good. You are a die hard for all the work you do for the price now a days. Kudos man.

Well it was the late 70s to early 80s, but at the time a 30" pelt would bring about $40.00, good times.

Yah it's a tough market now, born a decade or two too late in my opinion, but there's still a market be at as slim as it is, just grind on and it'll pay, just gotta catch more fur what it really comes down too, lotta work to put up big numbers and not come out in the red you know

I'm happy with this batch of coon though, average probly 3x that's 32 to 34in coon, big suckers were catchin this trip, colors not all there but we sure do have some big ones. Tough to put up an average of 32in coon but we are, nice ones
