All my whitetail bucks, well the mature bucks are only coming in after dark.....I have them on game camera photos, but haven't seen them during the daylight hours.

I don't shoot young bucks just to shoot. If I need meat, then I shoot does. That's just me though. I like big antlers and you can't get big antlers if you shoot them while they have little antlers. And you've already admitted that you are having trouble seeing bucks. I think you answered your own question.

Actually, you can. If you have plenty of deer, shooting yearling bucks for venison means you've allowed an older buck to get even older. ARs were necessary in certain counties because hunting pressure was so high that almost no bucks were surviving past yearling age.

So you let your better bucks grow up to breed and maximize their antler growth, but then shoot the yearling bucks that were potentially their offspring? Great management plan. And who said you can't let both the yearling buck and older buck survive, as long as your keep your buck to doe ratio in check? I'm pretty sure nobody is forcing you to shoot one or the other.

If he's got "plenty of bucks" then he would have seen them by now. That's obviously not the situation he's in. And if he's got "plenty of bucks" then why not shoot the 3.5 - 4.5 year old cull 6s, 7s, and 8s? Not yearlings. That's Deer Mgmt 101.

It's the same thing whether it's whitetail or axis. People act like they have to kill a buck every single year. They end up killing something that's too young and would have been nice next year, like the axis in question. Let him grow up. Otherwise, there's a good chance you will be posting the same thing about not seeing anything good next year again.

I thought that might be your reason. I find the Axis to be a little blah compared to venison.
