Chilli, my reasons may be wrong but I'll give it a try.
1. Liability/trust- we live in a shitty world and it could be a potential set up to get robbed assaulted murdered etc.
2. Gun safety/trust- too many idiots out there who aren't safe with guns and dont have a clue about hunting and the great outdoors.
3. Cost- there's profit to be made in Texas for hunting and those that just want a buddy to go with, already have friends and family members to go with that share this common interest.
That being said, it's not unheard of for some on here to meet, shoot and or hunt together. It's doubtful but u may receive a pm from someone interested in taking up your offer. Over time, with your input on the forum and a good reputation I would assume those odds would increase a bit. Be careful and trust your gut if u do end up hunting with someone. I sold a guy a pistol and hog hunted with him shortly after. He borrowed my gun and we hunted his friends place. Everything worked out well except for the fact that his gun safety and handling skills made me nervous and I had to remind a few times to keep the muzzle in a safe direction and watch his trigger finger... He's a good guy, but wasn't really experienced enough to be hunting hogs at night with others IMHO... I still have his number and we text about guns/hunting/advice every few months

Whereabouts in Texas are you? Merry Christmas and welcome to THF!
Also, the reply about the dating section was pretty dang funny.

Fast paced gregarious society forgets the healing power of solitude. It's worked thousands of years. Casting a line/gazing into a campfire/sitting in a blind after a long week is medicine for the soul. The serenity and peacefulness of it all is majestic.
