Where did you hunt. I grew up there.

Nice job. I hunted east of Plainview and the birds were scarce.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.

When I was mule deer hunting up there a week ago I saw birds West and south of Plainview. Quail are everywhere and in big coveys. Just look for the hawks.

Hey guys. I just moved to Texas from Arizona and I was wondering if anyone would be willing to help me find some public hunting areas for upland birds. Everything I can find is private ranch cage raised birds. Not nearly as fun as the real thing and it's super expensive as well. I've got a great dog. I greatly appreciate any advice. I would be willing to trade some great quail spots in tucson and even be willing to take a few guys out there sometime for some Mearns quail.

0tis,i may be able to help ya out ,I have access to a good deal of private land in 3 counties around the northwest Tx area. I have hunted upland from British Columbia to Quebec and a lot of the upland in the U.S. Was supposed to be in Tombstone Arizona at thanksgiving this year but plans fell through and was unable to get myself and the dogs over there, anyhow my interest are to take the upland 4 all in the same day with my shorthairs. as far as public hunting for upland in Texas it is not impossible but it is TOUGH.......one last note ,you will not be put on turn out birds [caged raised ] with me at anytime.
