How is your pigeon loft and upkeep holding out. Curious how much you spend a month on feed and for how many pigeons. Problems with predators getting in the loft. Cleaning the loft a pain in the rear or not bad

Bottom line during the summer when your not using the birds do you still like the pigeons?

I often wondered the same thing about pigeons. Pros have to have them and use them year around. I only used my in the fall and a little into the winter then turned them lose.

Sorry, just got back from Oklahoma (will post up some pics soon). Yes we love having pigeons all year, they are fun to watch. Clean up isn't bad (about as fun as cleaning up any other critters poo), I haven't had any predators get in and we see red foxes and coons all the time. What I have to watch out for right now is the dang hawks, I have one wanting to catch a pigeon bad but I have been lucky so far. I have 14 right now, any more than that and my 4x4x8' coop just seems too full. My wife enjoys them as much as I do.

My pigeon house ranges from 12 birds to 80 birds depending on predators and ones I give away to other dog people. They are fun to watch. I let mine free range most of the time. just keeping water in the house. When I do feed them I have found crack corn to be the cheapest form of feed 6-8 dollars 50 pound bag.
