I know there are other threads similar to this...

Tell me why I should buy a Mathews (and which one), or why I should buy something else. My gut says Mathews. Convince me one way or another

I am a big Mathews fan, but only because of feel. The feel of a bow means more to me than any other accessory. All of the big manufacturers make good bows. I shoot a 8 year old bow because I haven't found one that I like better. On my next one, I will go and shoot different brands and pick the one that fits me best.

Just depends on what you like. Good luck up

Thanks. Others?

In many ways... to me... a bow feels like a bow in my hands.

I haven't liked the ones I've shot the last two years. I bought an Elite but could been as happy, or happier, with a Hoyt. I don't like the jumpy cam on the Mathews line up.

What about the "no cam" models?

I love my Mathews Z-7. Had it since 2011. Ain't missed yet. Mathews makes a really good bow. The reviews led me to the Mathews Z-7. It was rated the best for the year.

It's the time spent in God's creation with family and friends making memories that counts.

There's only one bow worth shooting and that's a Bowtech!!!!! Now go buy a new 360 in camo and if you don't like it you can sell it to me next year for 1/2 price. laugh

Shoot'em all, and see what you like best. My current bow is a Bowtech, previous was a Mathews. I have zero brand loyalty when it comes to bows. When I am ready to replace this one, I will shoot them all once again.

I shot a Mathews Z7 for a few years, loved it. Incredible bow. Decided to upgrade to a new bow this season and shot all the new bows and the bowtech RPM 360 was my favorite, so I went with that and I love this bow even more. They are all good bows. Go shoot a few and see what feels best to you. You can't go wrong with a Mathews though if you are set on them.

You should buy a mathews because it will leave more deer in the woods for me to shoot!!!

J/K...Mathews makes a good bow. They are all good. Mathews, PSE, Hoyt, Bowtech, Elite...the list goes on and on.

I shoot a PSE, always have and probably always will. I like them, they like me. Go shoot a bunch at the proshops around and let the bow pick you.

How did you feel about the "No-Cam". Im sure it is super smooth but was the speed there?

It was super - super - smooth. Crazy smooth.

I did not shoot through a chronograph. But it seemed to be fine. I'll run through a chronograph once mine comes in. I was shooting with 85% let off. I'll set mine up with 75% to bump speed up a few fps. Advertised is 330 with 65% let off, so 75% should be around 320 IBO.

Matthews shoot very smooth and are great target bows. IMO, I want a faster bow and will give up a little of the smoothness. Speed in bow hunting will solve more problems than a smooth shooting slow bow that doesn't penetrate enough...again, my opinion. I rarely shoot over 25 yards (maybe once in 25 years of bow hunting) at deer. Today's mainline bows (like PSE and Diamond) are 30 times better than 10 year old Matthews or any other pro line bow for that matter.

I have shot several of the new bows and here are my top 3

1) Bowtech RPM 360 (360 fps)
2) Bear Agenda 6 (350 fps) (have not shot the 345 fps Arena 30 yet)
3) PSE DNA SP (345 fps) (have not shot the 355 fps Dream Season Decree yet)

Any of these 3 bows would be my choice if I were to spend the money on a Pro Line bow.

The PSE Full Throttle was a little too "jumpy" for me (370 fps)

Looking at a no cam htr... Seems pretty cool!

I have the Reezen7 and enjoy the bow.. It's a laser beam!

But nothing like a new Mathews

Any reviews?

Me personally I don't need a ton of speed. Smooth draw and quiet will work for me.

For you "speed guys" My sister uses a 15yr +old PSE percision series from Trophy Archery. Set at 48# she is deadly and has pass thru's.

To each his own... lol35

my 2004 Bear hasn't been replaced yet for a reason... just as small as new bow 32" axle to axle, just as fast as the new bows 280fps w/ 460gr arrow 29 1/2" draw 68lbs pull 75%, 280 is max speed for IBO shoots
Why fix what's not broken, it fits good & it feels good
Buy what fits you and feels good to you

Yeah, I really liked the HTR even if it is a bit slower than some of the other new bows. 330 IBO and up to 300 real world FPS is plenty sufficient. I'm still waiting on it to come in.
