Show some pics of your home theater. I'm thinking of getting a projector. I'm probably going to go with 120" screen in a 14x18 room. I was thinking of putting fabric on the walls to absorb reflections.
Anyone have a big setup, false walls and such?

I'm not sure what you think my budget is, but I'm thinking that it's not as high as you are thinking

Me and a buddy built my old boss a home theater room about 10 yrs ago. Had false walls, and step up seating so you could easily see over the person in front of you. We only did the framing. The finished product was very nice.

Here's our media room, Vutec 126" screen, Sharp XV-Z2000, renaissance speakers in the ceilings, one center channel, and one JBL 12" sub. But it's time to upgrade the projector we had this room built with the house in 06 so its getting a little outdated. Behind the screen is a window because of the house code so we covered it with black felt when the doors are closed its the man cave but this kids took it over last yr freaking pink crap everywhere with barbies time to put a big screen in the garage......... Old pic but you get the idea

I'll try to snap a pic of my theater room, but for now I have some suggestions. Just some personal preferences. My room looks similar to the one above.
1) Resist the urge to get leather theater seating. Yes, I know they push it and it's made for home theaters, but we put a nice comfortable CLOTH sectional in ours and it's SOOOOOO much better than leather. No one wants to sit on leather with shorts on. If you get leather you'll constantly be throwing a blanket over the seat. Get a cloth sectional and I can see from the pic above this post that he got a sectional too.
2) Like the pic above this post shows, get a ceiling fan! The projectors are nice but they are constantly throwing out heat from the bulb so over the course of a long movie or two the room can get warm. Get the ceiling fan. You'll be glad you did.
3) My room is painted with an eggshell paint in chocolate brown. Reflection's not a problem. I wouldn't bother with the cloth.
4) If you can set your universal remote to turn off your lights, you'll be glad you did. I have a Logitech Harmony Remote that I really like, but I can't tell you how many times I've gotten everything situated (my drink, my popcorn, my pillows, etc.) and sat down, only to realize I didn't turn off the light. So then I have to get back up and turn off the light and start getting situated again. It would be much easier if my remote would do it, and the Harmony Remotes can do it if you set your lighting switch up right.

120" screen is about perfect for that size room. No need to put fabric on your walls. The screen will come with matte black edges to absorb light spill around the viewing area. It would be best however to not use glossy paint. Projection systems can be done for a lot less money than most folks think. I have my 120" that is up in a soffet and comes down over my flat screen when I want to watch it. Good luck and post up pics when its done.

It's getting there! Had to send my old receiver out for repair under extended warranty recall. Screen is up, speakers are in place. Gotta get my wife to move the boxes of photo albums, almost done!

I'll get some pictures of mine up if desired but they would look similar to Txkiller's except for darker paint.
* BenQ W1500 (1080p projector, though the projector has WHDMI - it sucks - weak signal coupled with compression yields a garbage picture) * Elite Screens 135" (fixed-frame screen) * Marantz SR6008 7.1 (receiver) * Definitive Technology ProSub 1000 (subwoofer, 1) * Definitive Technology ProMon 1000 (main, 2) * Definitive Technology ProMon 800 (surround, 4) * Definitive Technology ProCenter 1000 (center, 1) * Monoprice 60-Feet Slim Series High Speed HDMI Cable with RedMere Technology (#109173, receiver -> projector) * Monoprice banana plugs * Monoprice projector ceiling mount
...then other stuff such as Bluray, tablet, satellite, Roku, etc. Front row seating is a leather reclining loveseat and the back row (elevated) is a matched reclining couch. I had to raise the ceiling fan - it's in between the projector and screen.
