Do any of you use a sled to get decoys and gear into a marsh. If so what sled would you recommend?

Yep:

http://www.rapala.com/otter/sleds/pro-sled/Pro+Sled.html?start=1&cgid=otter-sleds

Works great. Also good for dragging deer.

You can get smaller versions that are still pretty handy for about $60 or above version for about $130 at Cabelas.

Yeah I dunno..

I use the little beavertail sled, over grass/water/cold ground it's great. Gets a little heavy in the mud though.

Mud and sand are the anti-Christ of sleds though!

It can be a little tough on sand, I find they slide really well over soft mud. Either way it beats carrying all those decoys. I used to fill my sled to the top with about 4 dozen decoys and then put a sack with another 4 dozen on top of it and bungee it down. Way easier to drag that across mud/sand especially when there is an inch or two of water than it is to carry it over your back along with gun and ammo.

When hunting open water, I used to put my ammo box in the first sled with loose decoys and sack and then tie a second sled to my ammo box and pull another 8 dozen behind it. Easy way to transport 16 dozen decoys across 1/4 mile of mudflat without wearing myself out.

I've got the Beavertail sled with bag. I can tow it behing my kayak with 4 dozen decoys. It's an awesome sled well worth the money.

mine will float 3 doz deks a gun, blind bag and dog stand just fine... Dragging it in the water is the best way to go! That way you don't have all that gear weighing you down and if you fall, all your gear isn't soaked/lost

You won't sink it with decoys. They will float as many decoys as you can put in it without them falling all over the place.

Looked at mine tonight, I have 3 dozen in sled and in sacks, so actually 12 dozen with 2 sleds.

I trained mine a few years back. She did good in the marshes near Anahuac. Now she only drags it about 100 yards or so on the sand, and goes too fast in the water unless I have her "healed" by my side. Taken a couple of weeks ago...and resting.

Jetsled XL myself. Even turned mine into a layout blind. I took about 30' of climbing rope and made two loops to pull with. I cross them over my chest kinda like a harness. Keeps my hands free and the load balanced. Reduced chance of hurting my back; I pull with my legs, not my arms or back.
