Our spring Brown Bear hunts are done in April and are an
experience you won't soon forget. We conduct our hunts out
of cabins and tent camps and hunt bears as they are coming
out of their winter dens. We utilize aircraft, snowmobiles,
and snowshoes, and cover many miles in search of prime
spring bears. This hunt is physically demanding but usually
has very high success rates for rifle hunters and generally
produces the largest bears. Our five spring hunters were
100% successful in 2012 and our five spring hunters were
once again 100% in 2013! 2014 had tough snow conditions
and four of our five spring hunters harvested bears. The one
hunter who went home empty missed a 9 foot bear five times
on the first day and had bad weather and bad luck most of the
rest of the trip.
Success Rates have been 14 of 15 for the past 3 years. Last year 5 guys killed 4 bears. The guy who went home empty missed a 9 foot bear the first day, 5 times. Killed 2 nine foot bears, 1 eight foot bear and 1 seven foot bear last spring.
Spring before: 5 guys killed 5 bears, 1 nine and a half feet , 1 nine feet, 1 eight and a half feet, 1 eight feet, and 1 seven footer.
Spring before we were five for five as well and one was over ten feet.
