Took my 4 year old out today. He did awesome. Stayed quiet, actually told me to shut up several times, scouted the entire time for me. He still needs to work on that as every bush, shadow, and large bird is a deer or hog to him, but I'm still proud as heck.

Here he is watching a tree line. If you zoom in you can see he's watching a small buck and trying to convince me to shoot him. "He's got really big antlers, dad. I can see them." It was a 4-pt.

We ended up seeing 2 young bucks and 6 does. Right around dark a pack of yotes went off pretty close. I was notified it was time to get our butts outta there at that point. Had to put my stuff on him as it got cold in a hurry. My little killer (one day):

I am counting the days until my little buddy is in the stand with me. Getting to experience the excitement of a first time hunter is one thing but when it's your own kid I can only wish I could see it through there eyes but I will happily accept my job as a proud spectator.

Thanks for the kind words.

He's still bragging about how amazingly still and silent he was so "the deer couldn't even know I was there!"
