Hello THF I've just joined this forum and so far very impressed with all the knowledge I'm reading. As in my Title I just retired from the Army after 23 years and now along with my daughters we live in Buda Texas. We are in need of any information to guide us on where to go to do some hog hunting, we don't mind driving a reasonable distance but would like it to be public land or free. Ive searched on the net and some places are too exspensive. So any information on where to go and hunt deer as well we would appreciate greatly. It's our first time and would love to post some pics. Thk you and God bless

Good to have you on the forum, sir. I also live in Buda. There are a few hogs around these parts just a matter of finding a landowner willing to let you hunt. A buddy of mine just purchased some land about 5 miles west of San Marcos and he has hogs on his game cameras. We are actually eating breakfast here in town at Casa Alde right now on Main Street. TonIght after this weather passes we are headed out there to do some predator hunting with my new Xsight night vision scope. I have yet to see the place, but will report back with anything worth while.

Don't overlook the edge of Kyle city limits when talking to people. I killed a few in Arroyo Ranch before it was developed.
Old Stagecoach Road / FM 150 towards Wimberley / Lone Man Mountain Road Yoast Road outside of San Marcos....... all that country out there has hogs. It seems to be a corridor of them between the Blanco River and Onion Creek and 150 towards Dripping Springs.

Also, on the subject of Buda / Kyle, Hays ISD is a great school district for your kids.

Hey there, i to am retired army and visit buda hampton inn each year to visit wifes family for a week or so. I am tyring to hook up with someone to go shoot jack rabbits, hogs, predators what ever, instead of sitting in house with kids and women folk for a week frown

I sure would be interested to meet someone interested in either going out or getting me onto some fun when i come out there.
Ive had lots of fun in places like n.m. Clearing jack rabbits for ranchers.

Any one able to help this ole sarge out would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
