Anyone else seeing fewer Deer lately? For the last 15 yrs on this place the deer would be cruising and chasing doe now. I have yet too see a buck behind a doe this yr ! On top of that seeing very few deer period verses 5-10 every sit normally... Their not hitting corn very good and not even hitting the white oaks and persimmon trees like usual... Anyone else seeing less deer? May try hunting mid day too see how that goes!

Sat in a stand 2 days straight last week and saw more deer movement on our place than I have seen in 4 yrs. Cant really explain it but the bucks were moving, showing some interests in the does that I saw but it might depend on where your at. Were out near Granbury so we've had a couple good cold spells to kick start the action

Seen more deer so far this year than previous years, but nothing legal.

Any chance you could have a mountain lion on the area? The deer vanish for weeks if one appears in our neck of the woods.

Numbers are down here at my land as well. Thinking it is because I am retired now and spend more time at the ranch. Deer are not used to me being around this much yet. Maybe? Maybe not.

Im in Houston county with a very good deer population ...I'm not sure what's up...I'm getting tons of pics at night but rarely during day. Opening morning I heard 2 shots all morning verses world war 3 in previous years. It's not hunting pressure as it's just me taking my kids on a few hundred acres and we only hunt a stand that the wind is right. I saw many deer during bow season as past years but normally mid oct is when bucks start sparring and by end of oct they are chasing doe hard. But this yr like I previously mentioned , I've seen zero chasing and only few bucks cruising through looking for doe. It seems the rut is 2-3 weeks behind here. Anyhow, it's fixing to turn on heavy , I'm thinking maybe the doe have been laid up hiding from bucks. Just curious if others in east tx is noticing things behind this yr... Good luck to all ! We've got a lot of season left!
