Finally made it out this season to hunt waterfowl in North Texas and just had a horrible day... Only saw two flocks that were WAY up there, tried to call them in but had no luck. Guys about 1/2 mile away only got one and said they have had a rough season up here as well.

I'm wondering if I should bother with staying up here or try and go further south or east. No need to give me specifics on where you are hunting, just if you are having a hard season this year in North Texas.

We've had average or better luck up to this point in the season. Thursday and Friday we saw a decent number of Mallards that have moved in from the front.

I went out on Thursday on what would be considered hunting weather and only saw there ducks all of which were too high to shoot.

The guys I hunt with about an hour southeast from Dallas sent me a pick of a two man limit. I'd say it was the first hunt that was half decent since the opener.

I know someone who went out around Austin this past Wednesday and got 3.

Good numbers for this time of year where I hunt in Grayson County. Better numbers than last year so far.

Yep, froze my butt off for no reason. Oh well, December and January is when the hunting really starts, anything before that is bonus.

Terrible at our place in southmayd and haven't even hunted at our place in Gunter because we having seen crap scouting. I've gotten one gadwall all season long. We had a ton of tael come in during teal season so figured it was going to be good, but notta. Been freezing my butt off and taking 2 hours off work all this past week. I'm done for a while.

No. Been having a better season so far than last year, and last year was pretty awesome.

My usual haunt hasn't been too good. My guess is that it's a result of the lack of water on the public land I hunt. I did scratch out a teal limit yesterday, though (tough to beat for taste!). Might have to spend next weekend scouting other lakes that have more water in them.

Not seeing many at all around Leonard. We aren't on anything special, water-wise, but driving around the area Thursday and Saturday we hardly saw anything.

Mine has been pretty up and down so far. Opening day everyone in my group should have limited. Next day hardly any birds. 2nd weekend saw far fewer birds and only got a couple. This Saturday went to a private spot outside Corsicana that was supposed to be a chip shot. Saw only one group of birds. Yesterday morning saw more Mallards than I've seen in probably 10 years...should have been easy limits but I forgot how to shoot.

It has been a weird start. On one hand I thought it would run late like last year and started to look that way, then all of sudden crazy weather and more green than I've seen in Nov since I've been hunting up here.

I am just getting in to duck hunting, but this morning I sat by a pond and had probably 300 ducks fly in. It was incredible.
