For example, if your name is William, ya can't have WILL on your hunting licence.
Same thing if your name is Benjaman, ya can't have Ben on your license.
Never thought about that ever being a problem, never thought about it period, but it can be ticket and gotta go to tp&w and get it changed.

So they didn't use the info off your DL to do the HL?

My DL is first initial & middle name. My HL is just 2 initials & last name. Been checked several times and no one has said a word. confused2

FWIW - Both are signed with same signature...

No one said a word during the previous checks because it isn't an issue. Common sense and a little discretion goes a long way. Classic example of picking and choosing battles.

Sounds like a useless nitpick to me. DL and SS#s are always the identifier and assure no "double license" issues these days. Dude just wanted to rag you around a little IMO.....

The reason why you didn't get a ticket is that it would have more than likely been dismissed, which is a waste of everybody's time. We are no longer names anyway, just a series of numbers.

I got a warning a decade ago outside of Jacksboro, TX from a GW for not having "Benjamin" on my HL. I always double check my HL since then.

I deal with this quite often. My folks blessed me with two middle names. Initials being M.W.L.M. My SS card shows the two middle initials. My DL has one middle name spelled out because there was only one spot provided when I filled out the application. My surveyors license shows one initial which is not the same name used on my DL. Hunting license does match DL though. It's been a PITA really. Gotta love my mother

Naw I'm not one to bash a GW doing their job but after a little research Im pretty sure his name is ummmm Richard. This coming from the local TP&W office. I just say bring it on cause he will never ever get me on any kind of game violation unless he makes one up.

Would not worry about it as long as the name on your drivers license matches your hunting one.
