Well, after three years of non-use in AZ and a half-dozen trips this year, my beloved Cabela's Supermags are leaking. I have used Aquaseal before and I guess I'll have to try it- but does anyone else use any different products or methods to stop leaks? I'm still going over the waders with a magnifying glass to ensure that it is not a seam. Pretty sure it is just an abrasion near the calf and one up by the nether-regions. Any pro-staff recommendations?
Wasn't born in Texas, but I got there as fast as I could.

Any pro-staff recommendations? If it were me, I'd get new waders. You don't want those things filling up with water and dragging you under. Whenever I can get the money saved up (or my credit limit increased on my Visa), I'm going to buy some MPW waders. From everything I've read, they are the cat's a$$.

I ain't buying new waders for a small leak. Trust me, the Cabela's SuperMags are tough waders, and I went through several other brands of "Waterfowl" waders before I settled on those. I do a LOT of walking into spots. My waders take a severe beating and I doubt that the MPW's are any tougher. Maybe if you're feeling pretty generous this Veteran's Day weekend- you could go ahead and get me a pair of 11's so I could compare them???

Use air compressor to fill with air. Find holes with soapy water. Mark holes, rinse soap, dry. Fill holes with E6000 medium viscosity. It's a self leveling rubber cement that works very good and stays flexible.

You made it sound like your waders were wrecked. I was just suggesting that you replace them with a new pair, and this time with a superior product. Cabela's is a large chain store. Their stuff isn't really the best out there. Mack's Prairie Wings stuff is virtually indestructible. It's what all the pros use.

Cabela's has a lifetime guarantee on all their footwear including waders. You might want to give their customer service department a call, or swing by whichever store is closet to you.

I had a little hole in a pair of my waders, melted a fishing fake worm over it, no more leaks!

Use gorilla glue for mine, cures with water so that's handy and it seems tougher than any wader repair kit epoxy I've used .

Sadly, Cabelas Customer Service told me that it has changed to a 1-year deal... and Hopedale keep on chomping that popcorn. I ain't wasting my time or effort with a Pro that has about three days experience on THF and is already trollin'. Who knows, he's probably right... MPW waders are probably indestructable. My offer stands if the pro wants to supply me with a free test pair for a season.

I have dried all kinds of stuff (not the fake worm tho lol), aquaseal seems to be the best just expensive. And the new UV aquaseal cures in seconds when exposed to sunlight.

You have to have your recipt. One year on OTC brand. Life time on cabelas brand just keep your recipt. BTW. I'm on my 5th pair of cabelas supper mag. They last about a season and a half then the boot falls apart. Season 3 on my Macks. But what do I know, I only hunt every day

It's a self leveling rubber cement that works very good and stays flexible. 3M 5200 Marine Sealant for me. Most places only have it in white, but it is available in black and mahogany. It is the same stuff I seal all the seams on my Pirogues with or for any other below waterline repairs. I can even repair a large hole or rip by pressing a layer of it on the wader at the hole between two sheets of plastic or fabric. There is no wader or boot I can't damage. My waders, hip boots, and irrigation boots are usually about as ugly as they come with repairs all over them to get another year out of them. Again and again. It does take about 4 or 5 days to fully cure, so not for overnight repairs, but the repair will be stronger than the wader material and not come off.

I'm all ears to somebody who can offer actual useful information from actual experience instead of comparing shoe sizes. But that doesn't mean I haven't done all the research and read hundreds of reviews. Macks' reputation speaks for itself.

Instead of buying a Remington 870, cheap calls, and inferior camouflage waders, a guy can get it right the first time.

Nothing. They're a great beginner gun. But if you can only afford to buy one gun, it's better to go ahead and buy something a little more advanced so you're not being held back by your gun once you become an experienced hunter. And to the point, the internet allows us to gather more information than ever before so better decisions can be made based off of reviews, etc. You don't get stuck with an 870 and waders that leak.
