I thought about this last week and BltMedic got me thinking about it again with his post.

I get in 30 minutes before first light and stay until 10-10:30, afternoon 3:45 until I can sneak out.
So when do you show up?

Pretty much the same, but if able (meaning nothing waiting on me to finish hunting wife ), I'll try to stay until 11:00. I've busted a bunch of deer still on their feet by walking out at 10:30, and I've seen good buck movement in midday. My best buck was shot at 1:30pm.

I make sure I have the road fed with tailgate feeder and I am in the blind about 15 minutes before good daylight. I will stay till I have gone 30 minutes or so without seeing any deer depending on the rut and weather. In the afternoons, early in the season about 4:15-4:30 and when the rut gets closer I will get in around 4. If it is a good cloudy cold day with some drizzle I will hunt longer.

Pretty much the same. An hour before sunrise puts me in the stand about 30 minutes before first light. And I try to be in the stand for evening hunts no later than 3pm.

My usual time to leave in the morning is 10am, but I will stay longer when the conditions are right, such as cloudy, cold days with little or no wind.

For evening hunts, I never stay beyond the time when I cannot see safely with the naked eye. In other words, i don't use my scope to make out any details that I would not be able to see with a scope in normal light. Not only do I consider this unsafe, but feel it increases the chance of making harvest mistakes. This might include missing a brow tine on a spike, or mistaking a nubbing buck as a doe.

Almost ditto for me as well, if I continue to see movement in the am, (sometimes happens) I will stay longer.

similar to others. I try to get into the stand 30 or so minutes before legal shooting time and stay until 9:30 to 10. A lot of that depends on the kids and how ancy they are getting. In the afternoon, I like to be in the stand a little after 4PM and start packing up at sunset.

Thanks,
Rich

I shot a nice buck one morning after climbing down from my ladder stand to take a squat. The buck came walking through with a doe and fell just a few feet away from where I had squatted no more than 20 minutes earlier.

I try to be in the stand by 5am (last Saturday was 6 before time change) and try to stay till after dark. I may leave by 10:30 depending on movement, and then come back around 1. I've seen lots of deer up and moving at 2-2:30 previous years, while driving in so I had to adjust.

Numero uno: hang er out the window. Doesn't seem to bother the deer too much at all.
dos: Ive got a shovel and dig me a hole.

One hour and 15 minutes before sunrise and stay until 9/9:30 ish for mornings...

Two hours before sunset until dark thirty for evenings...

Never tried a high noonish hunt but some folks swear by 12 to 2ish...espicially on the cold, overcast days. Might try one this season.

I get in an hour before sunrise and stay until 10-1030. In the evenings I try and get in by 1530 and stay until I dark thirty. Depending on weather I may sit all day. Misty, overcast days with steady wind and it's a camp out.
