Nice buck, very thick antlers! In most parts of Bandera Co. a free range buck like that is a trophy!

Nice buck! Is that a potato gun? I don't know about potatoes but it dropped the buck in his tracks. A 308. I was at the house when he shot. Sounded a lot different than a normal rifle shot. Later I shot it. Shooting it is very quiet on the shooters side. First time I had shot a suppressed rifle.

It's a remington 700 "mil-spec" using Chad's 168 grain A-max-Bulk Match ammo. It entered the little spot you can see on the side of the neck and exited the opposite rib cage near the diaphram, taking the top of the heart as it crossed through.

I just wanted to thank Hermano W. He has come hunting here several times. Has always been a pleasure to have as a hunter. I put him a stand and he asks what I don't want shot. I tell him and then leave him there to decide for himself what he wants. I have never had to track a wounded deer for him. Never had any complaints from him. Never had to complain about him. He is the type of hunter guides and people that lease really appreciate having as a hunter.

Thanks for the kind words Don. You have a beautiful ranch, and you're a great host. I forgot to tell you I put some burr oak acorns in the pecan sack.
