I'm also in Coleman county right
Next to gouldbusk. Holy moly we are over run with hogs this year. Pulled the card yesterday show tons of deer the first 2 weeks of October. The past 2 weeks all hogs all day and night and not a single deer. So I have declared war. We sat in the stand last night and popped 2 and then this morning my dad and I each shot 1. Never have had this many in the past 5 yrs.

Was talking to the guy I work with that hunts in Coleman and said he seen 6 bucks Saturday evening. He said they were coming into his feeder in sets of 2's. Smaller bucks would stay a little ways away from bigger ones.

extremely slow for us. saw a few does and a couple of yearling bucks. Our issues are due to pigs.. in the previous 4 yrs on the lease we have only killed a total of 2 during deer season. The few we have were always completely nocturnal, not really causing a problem as we always thoguht they forced the deer to hit the feeders during light. Opening weekend we killed 4 between my dad and I on the 200 acres we hunt.

I pulled my TC pics from this weekend on our LF side and still showing good deer numbers and a few hogs
This year I spent the $ and put up hog panels around all feeder locations. It has made a definite difference. Last year the hogs ran off the deer this year not happening

Used to hunt on the southern side of Coleman County and never had an issue seeing deer. Surprised at some of the updates and lack of deer. Sure miss that lease. Good luck up

We normally get to hunt my family's ranch in Coleman County. We can see lake Coleman from their lake dam. The 30 acre lake was built to hold water while they made Lake Coleman dam. We have enjoyed killing deer, hogs, and turkey. don't get to go this year due to time off for a knee replacement and cousin's work schedule.

It's the time spent in God's creation with family and friends making memories that counts.

I got to camp to find most of my windows on the campers busted out from the hail storm a few weeks ago. 3 game cameras broke as well. on the one camera not broke, I had some really good deer coming. more so than the past 4 years. As for the hunt, It was a VERY slow and windy weekend. Saw a total of 7 deer on aover saurday and sunday.

I hunt in white chapel, about 10 miles west of Coleman, few miles before you get to hords creek. Saturday morning was great for me! had about 10 does and 2 good bucks going crazy chasing them does. Sure got me pumped up. Just hoping Im not gonna end up regretting not shooting! LOL. Hate to hear some other parts of the county aren't having much luck. I was born and raised in Coleman and understand how much hunting season does for our local economy so hope the deer population stays as good as it has in past years.

God bless and good luck to all!
