Anyone ever hunt here? I am looking for NON salt water places within 3 hours of Houston.. for public access. I do not really want to go to the SHNF and this may be a good alternative.. Also looks like there is a good possibility for a two day deer / duck hunt with camping which would be cool.
Any help would be great!

Also, if you have been there and tried this out, is it a place that can be hunted without a dog or boat?
