Does anyone know of any public waterfowl hunting spots? I know some lakes and rivers are legal but not sure which ones. I'm in the DFW area. I know the LBJ grasslands in Decatur allows hunting so if anyone has tried that let me know how it went.

Ray Roberts has the best hunting in Texas! I was out there last weekend filling the corn feeders where I duck hunt. I think I saw 10,000 ducks! I use a 10 guage with 3 and a half inch BBB so I can make 100yard shots. Just follow a guide and setup about 50 yards downwind of them. You'll slaughter 'em!

Seriously...... first, find a lake that actually has water in it. Second, SCOUT spots that can be LEGALLY hunted. Third, LOOK for ducks. If you find water that can be hunted that has ducks and that you can get to, you'll be good to go.

uh.....I forgot the important part.
Get an annual public hunting permit. TPWD will send you a booklet with maps and information showing what lands can hunted as well as site specific info. Spend the money, it's worth it.

It's really pretty easy for you to answer all of your own questions. In fact with the time it took me to write this im 99% confident I could have Googled the answers to your questions, but I did that alonnnng time ago

Saw lots of ducks while fishing lake Texoma this week but public spots probably pounded this weekend. Public maps, google earth, walk.
