I'm going to be in the stand tomorrow with the Man Child... We hope to have a successful day.
The question is.... Can he take a doe with his rifle, or does he also have to wait until Thanksgiving.
I tried to look it up in the regulations and couldn't find anything.

Bag limits during the Youth Weekend are the same as during the general season. Generally, this means whatever the bag limits are on the first day of the general season.

Are you hunting in a county where does can only be taken later in the season?

In Houston County where I hunt, kids can take does this weekend because they can be taken during the general season through the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

In Fannin county, a doe can be taken during Archery, and thanksgiving weekend only. Nothing about youth being any different. Thats why I asked.

This should clarify. See the special requirments note concerning Fannin and other counties. Kids are allowed to take does during each Youth Only season, so long as they stay within the county bag limit. Simply put, whatever a kid can legally take in these counties during Nov. 27- 30, they can legally harvest during either of the Youth Only seasons.

Now go have some fun.

About Youth-only Season

White-tailed Deer

October Special Youth-Only Season: Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 25-26, 2014. The season is open in all counties where there is a general open season for white-tailed deer. All legal hunting means and methods are allowed, except in Collin, Dallas, Grayson, and Rockwall counties where hunting is by archery equipment only and crossbows.

January Special Youth-Only Season: Jan. 5-18, 2015. The season is open in all counties where there is a general open season for white-tailed deer. All legal hunting means and methods are allowed, except in Collin, Dallas, Grayson, and Rockwall counties, where hunting is by archery equipment only and crossbows.

Special Requirements: In Anderson, Brazos, Camp, Delta, Fannin, Franklin, Gregg, Grimes, Henderson, Hopkins, Hunt, Lamar, Leon, Madison, Morris, Rains, Red River, Robertson, Smith, Titus, Upshur, Van Zandt, and Wood counties, the bag and permit requirements are the same as the period Nov. 27-30, 2014 for each respective county (see County Listings).

In a county where antlerless deer may be taken only by permit, a permit is required to take antlerless deer during the youth seasons.
