I'm in Young county and I want to hit peak rut!!! Just getting some opinions, if you could only choose one week would you take off the week of Nov 10-14 or Nov 17-21??? And why would you choose one over the other? Thanks!!!

If it was Mills county I would take 10-14. I'm seeing a lot of early chasing already and have seen two does in heavy estrus already. Can't go very wrong either one.

17th threw the 21st will be a darker moon, so in theory more deer movement during shooting hours. But either one will better than being at work for sure.

Wisco, I'd lean more to the colder of those weeks and if the lesser moon lines up to that week, the better. Either of those weeks should be about peak of rut.

I intend to take off the week of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.

Granted, the rut will be well over by then. However, the temps should be much cooler and more like huntin weather.

The week after Thanksgiving has been good for me for the last few years. Colder temps help a lot.
