That looks just like a couple of Archer County deer I saw last season. Huge mature bodies and tiny little fully formed racks. Seems like AR's missed their mark on a few.

If you blow his head clean off they can't tell how wide he was (or wasn't)....

If you blow his head clean off they can't tell how wide he was (or wasn't).... Typically, a forehead shot will give you at least 3 more inches on his spread.....

yeah I wanted to let my buddies son shoot this one, I think is would have been a great first deer, but dadgum antler restrictions is going to prevent that

Show the game warden the picture when you can and I bet he would let him slide, they are usually good guys and understanding when it comes to something like this.
