Had a nice 8 coming in this morning, only to have the wind swirl and he bust me at 45 yards. Now I'm sitting in a tripod in this 93 degree heat. It's crazy green and the acorns are thick. Man this early- October bow hunting stuff can be frustrating. Sometimes I wonder why I bother.

But, as the old saying goes, it just takes one to change everything! Good luck to everyone enduring the heat and the coming rain along with me this weekend.

I'm in route to Oklahoma to knowingly sit through rain and unfavorable weather. The bucks are still bachlored up and mostly nocturnal. Mosquitos thick. Like you said, we do it, and enjoy it, just for the potential chance of being in the right place at the right time.

I feel your pain brother. Every year I say I'm going to wait until 10/20 to start hunting. Every year I'm right back out there in the early season heat. The first two weekends this year were actually pretty good though...

Just be glad your out in the woods

Soon enough it will be colder than a witches teet

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

The mosquitos were carrying me off last time I went a week ago. Kudos to you for getting out there. I'm waiting for the cooler weather. Sure hope it gets here.
