So far on my game camera I have seen only lone pigs. 3 total in the last 4 months. First one was a boar that I took. Second one was another boar, I beileve the neighbor got to him before I could. The most recent one is quite smaller. I believe it may be a sow but not for sure. Is it normal for sows to move outside of a sounder?

It happens that you spot a lone sow from time to time, but more often than not, loners are boars.

It's not normal. Like said above usual only Boars do that. Strange that you haven't seen more action on the property. They come and go as they please and you will probably have more as the year goes on.

IME, soon as I kill a big boar that has been frequenting my feeders, within a week a new mature boar will move in a start frequenting the feeders. I imagine that smaller one is a boar, and has now been able to consistently feed in the area because the other 2 larger/more dominant boars were taken off.

I have seen this happen with bucks as well. Early last year before the season I had a descent 7 point showing up on camera. About the middle of bow season, he disappeared and almost immediately an old 6 point started showing up on the camera. I got the 6 point around mid November, and by Thanksgiving, the 7 was back. Could have been a coincidence, but either way I am glad he came back.

Got him on the camera this year and he is definitely on the hit list.

cheers whin a dominant buck gets killed another one moves in. same with hogs. Thar be a reason, still could have been sow, that got seperated, cause of hunting pressure, others trapped, killed. with out pic, hard ta say, have seen as many as 3 big boars staying tagether, same as deer. chances are it is a boar. I'd it hanging around, should be some sows. last pic had on cam was a single hog, not sure if boar or sow, that been close ta month edit: Fezkx welcome ta THF let us know if ya get it flag

Thanks everyone for input! I bet it's a boar, just wasn't sure on the chances of a sow. I will update if I take the one I've been seeing. I have some pictures, not available at the moment. This hog came in shortly before sunset and fed for a few minutes before a doe and 2 fawns came into view in the background. The pig left quickly and the doe and fawns were able to feed. Pretty cool to see that.
