I bought some Redfields when my B&L's crapped out on me and I have not complaints.

Same on the Redfields. Clarity is good and they do pretty well in low light.

I got some Vortex diamondback 8x42s that I am super happy with. Way better than my last set from REI. Lifetime warranty too, it's a pretty good bang for the buck. PM me for info on where I got them, $200 even shipped to the door.

Nikon glass as always looked good to my eye.

Check out Nikon trailblazer, Nikon action purro prism,
Kowa YF are good too porro prism

X2, I have them in 10x42 and they are awesome, got them on sale for 180.

I go to the pawn shops in the better parts of town and see what has shown up. Picked up a pair of Redfield Rebel in 10x42 for $50 out the door with the case. Yes Pawn shops are the scourge of poor people, but sometimes you find some good things cheap.

The Kruger Backcountry are very good for the money. Some professionals have said the 10x50's compare to the $1000 price range.
