Im looking to be down in deer camp this weekend getting some pre-season stuff done. figured if the dove were moving I might try a few in the front of the place where I wouldn't bother the deer stands any.

anyone seen any dove moving south of alice? in the back of my mind I'm thinking these early fronts may have pushed them south faster. I dunno though. south zone season is generally slow for us until late. the late season after Christmas is reliably smoking hot, but its also the peak of the rut, so we don't do any dove hunting then.

I'm in Breckenridge and have yet to see a good northern push. Have only had 2 fronts so far. The first one was too early and it didn't push anything in. This last one was so weak it didn't either. In the 90's here this week, hopefully some will be on the front coming this weekend but it's suppose to be pretty weak too. Looks to me like it's going to be a late migration this year.

We hunted Near Bowie, TX this Saturday and had a GREAT hunt!

Hundreds of birds...

Guys ran through a bunch of boxes of shells to get their limits!

No birds I can find between Sanger and Muenster and between Sanger and Woodson this weekend. I need a place to go this weekend.

Downtown sanger was covered about a week ago. Went to babe's to go eat and sat in the park let my son's play and watched hundreds of birds come in. But like I said that was before this cold front came in. I'm gona check out my usual spot this evening if I don't get called into work. If it works out il let u know. It could be a bust. It was this weekend fri evening and sat. Didn't hunt it sun.

I hunted 10 miles SW of Alice this weekend and 3 of us shot very easy limits 3 days straight in the same spot. One of the 3 is my 12 yo daughter. She killed a limit each day. It was better than two weeks ago.

Hunted in Coleman county last weekend. Had good amount of birds. Out of the couple limits I killed there were only 3 or so birds that looked like they might have been northern birds. Rest were all native birds.

we're about 15mi NE of Hebbronville. 10mi SW of alice wouldn't be super far from us. although we are just brush pasture with some open areas. if you were on grain or something that could make a world of difference. we generally have a lot of dove later in the year. sounds like there might be a few around.

Our place is right on the farmland/brushland line. We were hunting cattle pastures within a couple miles of sesame fields. Doves mostly had goatweed in them but some with sesame and none had milo. The milo left in the fields has all sprouted with the recent rains down there. Lots of birds down there. Good luck!

Hunting in Fisher County. Started off hot with local birds. Slowed down some, got a big push of birds after the first front, flocks of 50-10 were common.

Latest front pushed everything out.

Didn't even see a limit in the air last time we went out.

Time to get ready for deer season.

yeah, south zone is all closed up...time for deer.

although I noticed on the regs this year....that late dove season reopens on dec 19th and runs thru jan 25th....they really extended that it seems. will be the deer rut down south...so no dove hunting for me. but interesting to see them do that.
