Had some clients call last June wanting big quality deer. I had some but all mine were booked up at the time but I seen a ad here on THF from earlier In the year that I kept the contact info on. I called Marty the owner and we set up a hunt. I had seen great pics from last year and we set up hunt. Marty was great to deal with and was all ways answering calls and text from my hunters. Which was a lot lol! I got to ranch a day early and seen some GREAT deer. So I was pumped about the hunt. Hunters arrived next day and were pleased beyond words when they got in blinds. Guys wanted to have a few beers the first day so everyone was just "scouting" the ranch. Well they regretted just "scouting" after every one seen good quality deer!! We got back to the lodge and had a amazing home made dinner made by Marty and his awesome wife. So with the full belly's and a few beers everyone crashed. The next morning we harvested a amazing deer followed by the breakfast of kings! Marty's wife is a exceptional host and over kills every homemade meal! We all went back to house and chilled for a couple of hours. The guides and hunters did make a loop around noon but no luck with that loop. Brush is very thick and deer were moving with the cold front that moved through. So then comes the great mid day nap! Followed by a light lunch and the evening hunt. One of the hunters connected with a jam up deer around 6 pm. And then they all headed back out after pics to help scout for a management deer for one the clients sons. Only to see monster whitetail bucks while out scouting. Everyone got back in camp with high spirits and super great stories. We then had a terrible dinner...... Big rib eyes, homemade boracho beans, twice baked potatoes,squash.... And the best is still to come homemade soapilla cream cheese cake and homemade tres leche cake..... I lied to Marty's wife and told her Saturday was my birthday just to taste this tres leche I've heard so much about....... Well need less to say it was amazing and she knew I was fibbing but she still made it! She is amazing in the kitchen and a amazing host that sincerely cares about her guest in the kitchen and dinner table! A great card game followed dinner with good friends and a good toddy. Sunday morning Marty made sure that the son of the client was taken care of by harvesting a amazing wide management deer. Followed by another terrible meal! She actually made the hunters her homemade salsa to take home in Tupperware bowls after she over heard them bragging on how good the salsa was to there friends on the phone! That is the kind of host they are! Just good down to earth folks that will take care of you as a client. I've been on tons of ranches both guiding and hunting and this is a up to par legit ranch. If anyone is wanting a quality hunt that isn't canned but well managed please keep them in mind. You won't be disappointed quality deer and down right good west Texas hospitality. Will post pics to follow.

If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.
