Blue and the red. One without the other is as useless as chicken doo doo on a pump handle. Put both in when you fill up everytime and you will never have an issue. Also put in an ounce or so of Marvel's Mistery Oil or whatever lubricant you choose. It keeps the parts slick and moving freely.

Red for the fuel, blue to combat alcohol in fuel. Right Wayne? I been taking notes grin . An ounce of Marvel's Mistery Oil per 6 gal tank, or per gal?

I never really meaured Guy I just poured in a dauble. A dauble is a cross between a dab and a little bit.

I've been using just the blue for 10 years in my 1995 mercury, and she starts first try, every try, after months of sitting.

What's the logic on both again, Wayne? Obviously won't create any problems, just curious.

The red is to fuel stablize the fuel and keep it from going bad. The blue is to combat the alcohol. Alcohol is a bifurcated devil. The alcohol destroys rubber and some plastics for the first part of the problem. The second is water readily bonds with alcohol on a molecular level. Water going through the system be it bonded to alcohol or not can devistate an engine. The blue formula stops the water's ability to bond to the alcohol, a bond blocker if you will.

In learning about removing water from waste vegetable oil I learned a ton about water in fuel. Water suspended in fuel, that you can't see, can wreck a motor. I am not talking about water being poured into the tank. I am talking about alcohol being so ready to accept the water molecule in bond, it can collect a damaging amount of water from the atmosphere.

Wayne, I'm applying newbie logic here, but when you look at sta-bil red vs blue, red looks like their standard fuel stabilizer, and blue is the Marine grade. I'm not convinced you need to do both. I might have to call them. I would be interested in what others think. I'm sure everyone has an opinion, they all think their stabilizer is best, but really they are all the same. grin

Oh, and who was the guy I met on lake X today? He saw my boat at the ramp, brand new shinny engine, and said "I bet that is Guy", then he saw yellow dog and knew it had to be me. roflmao

Got a little mud on it today.

You just riding around? I don't think I have 5 on mine and I've been out 3 times.

What's the yellow tank for? Still trying to figure out how far you can go on a tank?

Scouting. I had 1 hr on it, I put 4 hrs on it yesterday. Got 5 hrs on the tach, time to change the oil. Pretty much scouted all ducking areas of lake X. I would say 1 hr to an hr and half was just running it from one area to another. The rest was really just putting thru shallow water, 2 feet deep, seeing where the silt is and the hard clay, .... I did get stuck a few times, hit some stumps, Molly flew out of the boat once, all and all it was a great day. grin

Next is lake Y. up

Hey Guy that was me that introduced myself at the ramp yesterday, good meeting you. cheers
Really nice motor and boat btw!!! After you left my buddy asked where did he go? Quick scan down the lake and I couldnt hardly see you or the boat, but I could pic Molly out as if she was a spot light at 5am. She's bright!
She was ready to go!

Running good I see! Did you find out if you need to use gas without ethanol?

I think Molly has decided to postpone her retirement plans indefinitely. You can tell by the look on her face.
