Moving one of my blinds thats on a 6ft base. Any tips or tricks to get it on the trailer as easy as possible. Standing it up wont be bad, I will have several people to help.

I moved one on a 10'base in tact once. I put two 4"x4"x8'timbers across the rails of my 5'x10' utility trailer and steaked down the front legs on the pivot side, if you know what I mean. I tied a heavy duty rope to the top of the tower on one side and tied the other end of the rope to my truck, giving it a little slack. I used another long heavy duty rope, tied it to the other top side of the tower and to my Rhino. I used the Rhino to get the blind started down until I broke it over the tilt center point. I used a very long rope. I used the Rhino to position the trailer so the tower would land just right and used the truck to lower it onto the trailer. At no time was anyone in danger of being under the blind if it fell.

Is it a wood base or pipe/metal? I have laid a few of them over onto a trailer with a pickup onto a trailer.

If you are not moving it far; we put 2 x 4s under one (like skis) that had a 10 foot tall base and pulled it with a truck to the other side of a field, about 200 yards.

Its on the side of a hill now only moving around 200 yards as a crow flys but closer to 400 by road. I may try the 2x4 trick. Its a metal base with a plywood body.

I was lucky and the manager of our lease has a bobcat with long forks. He drove it up to my 5' tower, lifted the thing up off the ground, drove about 100 yards and put it back down. It took him longer to drive the bobcat to my stand than it took to move the thing.

Thanks,
Rich

You can easily lay the blind on a trailer, but you should use two vehicles if the blind and tower are very heavy. One vehicle in front to pull it over and the second to lower the blind once it starts to tip over. Make sure your ropes/cables/chains that you use to pull the blind over are strong enough and long enough to do the job,(50% longer than the total height of the blind). You don't want a rope to break or come loose from the blind and crush your vehicle and hurt someone. Remember the taller it is, the more leverage it will have. Be sure to anchor the two legs that the blind will tip onto, (the ones that are closest to the pulling vehicle when lowering the blind). The legs need to be tied near the ground so they can pivot, but not slip away from the trailer. You MUST secure the legs so they can't slip out from under the blind while it is being tipped over and hurt someone or your equipment. You can drive a couple of T-posts into the ground near the legs of the blind, (make sure they are set wider than the legs of the blind and trailer). You can use good rope, chain or tie-downs to tie between the T-posts (at ground level) and the bottom of each blind leg. I usually will lay a blind down almost to the ground and put something under the tower stand to prop it up. Then I back the trailer under the blind, and then finish lowering it onto the trailer with the second vehicle. Once you do this, secure the blind to the trailer and take it to the new location. Just reverse these steps to put it up safely.
