We hunted a new property, so we had to figure out where exactly the birds wanted to be. On day one we had four hunters and retrieved thirty nine in about four hours. Unfortunately we lost a few in the thick brush. On the second day we had three hunters and shot forty five birds in under two hours with no lost birds. Taking high percentage shots and ignoring the marginal opportunities helped with our retrieval rate. The last photo is of a bird I centered in the pattern at about five yards. I was a bit surprised at its condition when I picked it up. Excellent hunting and fun times.

These hunts actually made me want to get back out there in the last season in December and January. Supposedly lots of birds winter on the property.

Nice hunt and pics. Is that place close to DFW. Looks like Palp Pinto or down south towards Val Verde with those canyons.

It is down southwest. Crockett County. Nice limestone.

Yup I used to deer hunt every year as a kid in Val Verde county. Very similar look.

Thanks again, great pics.

Great Job,
I live in NW Florida and it's hard to find a good shoot these days. When I was a boy we used to have great shoots with droves of doves several hundred each. These days we're lucky to have 200/300 total. We used to be on a flyway but now we are on a fly-a-way... cry

Hope you folks continue to have a great season!
